“With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.”
Why is prayer so important to us?
The Bible teaches us that spiritual ministry can only be accomplished through the power of God. (Psalms 127:1,2) God’s power is released into ministry situations through prayer, as the following passages demonstrate. Not only did the apostles feel the need to have their own ministries supported by prayer, they sought to accomplish ministry in others through prayer.
“Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you”2 Thess. 3:1
We believe what James 5:16 teaches which says that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective and that when we confess and pray for one another that healing can begin. Jesus modeled for us the importance of prayer in times alone with the Father and also taught His disciples how to pray for those in need. We desire to live in this way as Jesus taught us.
At Ebenezer church we believe that prayer is the way that we fellowship with God and also how He ministers to us. We want to model, teach, equip, and bring comfort to our church body in prayer and through prayer.
“We have a prayer team that is regularly praying for our church family. Grab a prayer request slip from the Welcome Center and let us know how we can be praying for you.”
